Open air, free to experience sculptures.
Flowing water, sparkling sunlight, native forest, birdsong with vistas of inspiring artwork and stories of local history, culture and nature – the Geraldine Sculpture Trail is free, accessible to all and totally unique to New Zealand.
The individual loops wind their way through and around the beautiful village of Geraldine, South Canterbury.

What an amazing spring day! The rain has finally stopped; wow, the sun and blossoms are delightful. Steve, our landscape consultant, captured this photo earlier in the week - full credit!

Wow, what an amazing holiday! Eight US national parks and 8,775 kilometres later, I am finally home, surrounded by beautiful crisp fresh air, glorious snow-capped mountains, and our wonderful Geraldine community.

As wintry conditions continue for you, I am out of the country enjoying time with my son, Oliver. To keep you f rom being left without a word from me, here’s something I prepared in advance of my trip.

Winter is truly here, not necessarily marked by the snow on the mountains but certainly by the number of frosts we’ve experienced, bird feeders hanging in the trees, firewood piles, and limited sun to dry clothes.

It is a raw wintry day as I write this, snow is topping the peaks, the sun is hiding making it dismally peaceful. You may have seen that we have completed the Viewing Platform, beautifully constructed by Caleb and the team from Kings Construction and Rick and Dave from Ricks Rock Walls.

It’s only three weeks until the second loop of our sculpture trail is ready for exploring!
